I told Jess that I would be out around 9:00. I had both scones made, dishes done, kids dressed, scones boxed up and all of us packed up in the van by 9:05. We didn't have very far to go yesterday, as they were picking a bed just across the railroad tracks, which is NOT FAR AT ALL. Why did I drive you ask? Because it was so SO COLD AND WINDY!! They kids were much happier sitting in the warm van, while we delivered treats, than they would have been sitting in a stroller. The wind just whipped us all over.
I didn't want to stop the operation too much, so we fed the guys as they finished up different aspects of the process. Jess and Jim grabbed a treat as they came out of the bed and before they went back in a bed. The back hoe driver and boat pullers finished dumping berries in the dump truck and then joined us for scones. There were two other guys down at the other end of the bed and I delievered them some treats too.
Everyone was happy and their bellies were filled until lunch. I was happy because they enjoyed it. I LOVE baking and I love baking for people who deserve it and enjoy it. (I take orders if you need some baking done ;) )
